In the GYXTC8S cable, a 250μm fiber is embedded in a tube constructed from a material with a high

modulus, filled with a hydrophobic compound. The tube is then encased with a plastic-coated steel strip

(PSP) that runs in a longitudinal direction. To ensure the cable is compact and has longitudinal

water-blocking properties, a water-blocking substance is intercalated between the steel strip and the tube.

The cable also contains a steel strand that is arranged in an octagonal shape, all encapsulated within a

polyethylene sheath.
