OPGW cables are designed to combine optical transmission capabilities with overhead ground wire for
power transmission applications. It operates as both an optical fiber cable and a ground wire, providing
lightning protection and conducting short circuit currents. The OPGW comprises a stainless steel tube that
encases the optical unit, along with aluminum-clad steel wire and aluminum alloy wire. Its structure
includes a central stainless steel tube and a layered stranding method. Custom designs are available to
meet various environmental conditions and customer requirements.
 
Application:
 
Ideal for replacing aging ground wires and adapting to new high-voltage ground wire designs. Offers
protection against lightning, handles short circuit currents, and enables optical fiber communication.
